Purple Caper Seeds

I've run his Grandaddy OG and I have to say I've been pretty unimpressed. Out of 5 seeds all the phenos were pretty lackluster. nose is very good, as is medicating pain relief, but poor bud structure and extremely low yield.

I've run it both in 5gals and in SOG with a few weeks of veg. Both options have been lackluster. Side by side with everything else I've grown it has been hands down one of my least favorite. Maybe just lucked out on the crap end of the genetics in the mix, but Iwon't be trying again.

I have some chocolate OG regs and a single NASC "assorted chocolate" caper I'm toying with starting today.

:(

bummer man. i was hoping the grandaddy OG was going to improve on the GDP yield... it's pretty low to begin with. but i grow it for the medicine as you've said. helps the elderly patient with uninterrupted sleep.

i am assuming favorable results (as you keep growing his line)?
He's a friend who has helped me out a lot along the way.
Can't say I'm a fan of everything as I tend to sway more towards the gassy, fuely, diesel end of the spectrum as far as taste is concerned.

Everything I ran pre-2019 were testers for him.

Standouts were Grand Fire, Cookie Lady, Chocolate Hashberry(Darkheart clone), and Purple Chocolate.

Medicine-wise, his stuff has always worked better than most even when I wasn't fond of the strain.

I've got his(controversial) Alpha Cheese Skunk going right now as well as some autos outside.

edit - the Grand Fire I ran from fem seed last year was just ok to me... nothing as good as the testers I'd ran previously but that was only one seed.

appreciate your response.

seems a lot of people like the skunky. i am ambivalent about the flavors for the most part, as i am growing for medicinal purposes. the GDP i grew a few months ago was a healthy, vigorous plant... was a pleasure to grow. looked pretty, smelled wonderful... just little chunky buds. it just didn't yield much.
the silver lining being that the medicine the plant produced worked great and was a really good fit for the patient.
GDP is in MANY great medical strains lineage. figured some pollen chuckin' with some modern GDP derived alpha males might be a good side project while producing seed to reduce continued operational costs. *shrugs*

well, it's 2023. many things have happened since 2019. hopefully your buddy has continued to improve on the line in the meantime. i don't think NASC promotes any sh*t breeders so will remain optimistic that i can get a few choice males from the seeds that are inbound. :)

thanks again for response.
