Purple nugs!

i know purple doesn't make better buds, but it makes better LOOKING buds which gives you something to admire/talk about. the $ they fetch from bag appeal can't hurt either. the reason they're so sought after is because not everyone can grow purple buds and most plants in nature don't go purple so it's considered exotic. people just forget that the colour is usually the ONLY thing making it exotic.

i heard mendo purps is a really good purple strain, its at bc bud depot for a good price.

read into 'humboldt county's own' line of supplements...

a year ago i was on my first grow and temps were above 90 most of the time and this s what i got using those products (strain was random bagseed):

Yeah, but then again....your only selling to idiots anyways if u have purp.

i went to the club 2 days ago. the top 7 strains were purple. i have truck loads of really good weed that is not purple. they won't even look at it.

The pulple does nothing for the potency but it is perfectly acceptable to allow your plants to go through a mild frost at the last week of growth. That is why outdoor weed tends to have a bit of purple. I plan to allow the temperatures in my grow to drop into the high 30's or low 40's during the night and peak in the eighties during the daytime in the last week of growth. until then I am keeping the temperatures up.

Now that just sucks man. I use to get made fun of by friends, b/c every big bag i use to go buy I would take the buds out smell them, and inspect the triches and THC crystals. ...That just goes to show, people let the mainstream tell them whats "cool" or "good".

i read a long time ago here that most purple landraces have a relatively LOW thc concentration. just something i found interesting back then..

i know that commercial purple strains have been bred for high potency, but it just shows you that purple doesn't tell you anything about quality

if you dont want to buy some talk to your local merchant who imports and see if he comes arcross any purps im in the SE us and have regualr purps very dark nuggs. maybe if your nice to him hell toss you a feww seeds most merchants dont care about you finding seeds its just theres usaly no seeds to be found so ask you might be suprised and a note to every one when you buy seeds theres some chancce of dissapointment but theres the lickly hood thelyll be what you want but ive found that with carefull inspection i can find seeds in some of my favorite nuggs that pass through and they are garuntteed bascily and they flourish as there grown within the regaion so theres not much in the way of adjusting climiatge soil etc.. makes the process simpler now you ask what about where those nuggs came from (perhaps they were orderd) either way you know what your planting. take it or leave it anyways good luck hunting.

that's because other purp strains people drop the temp which constricts the vascular flow

alright if you need me to explain, because obviously you do, here.

Lowering the temperatures of ANY plant will cause it to change color, in this case, cause it to change PURPLE.
This is because low TEMPERATURES DESTROY chlorophyll (what gives the plant, leaves, and FLOWERS it's characteristic GREEN)
Chlorophyll is produced during the growing season, and the warmth has a big deal to do with chlorophyll...

now here's something I KNOW you didn't know...
Anthocyanin...

Anthocyanin is a purple/reddish pigment found in EVERY PLANT... This is not only affected by chemicals, but also by the weather...

Cold temperatures destroy chlorophyll, and turn the leaves yellow due to the carotene, but if the temperatures don't go below freezing, the production of anthocyanin is actually better and produces a purple/red plant/leaf/and also in some plants FLOWERS...
then dryness... as in the humidity of the area around the plant,

if it's dry the plants sugars become more concentrated in the leaves, and create a redder tint...

these are REGULAR THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO EVERY PLANT....

so i think this ends our arguement, and i think we both know who told who right : )

enjoy.
well said, someone's been doing their homework:bigjoint:
