Purple Stem? Trait or Danger

Hi, I'm a average grower that has been in the vege stage for about 2 weeks now. I have 3 Plants Under 3 cfls "one each plant" 40watt.

The Other 2 Plant Are Doin Great But MY Main Plant is showing purple stems!
Is this a bad thing? people said it could be traits ? wat if it's not traits?

i have M-Gro soil n M-Gro Feeder
and i'm growing indoor in my closet with a ghetto vent system
that has 2 fan that i can adjust air flow, as u can see >>>>>>>>

but it been 3 days now and my plant is showing purple stems
Can any one give me some advice?
and yes i know the pick are big but that jus better quility we ALL know about "Quility" lol

It's normal for young plants to have purpling/redding stems.

Has this problem gone away once and then came back again?

Have you got an eye on ph and ec levels?

This is the first time it had showed on my plant
"no i hav no Ph Meter getting one on next paycheck broke for now xD
but what is a "ec" lvl..... srry if that was a retarded question i just don't want my youngstaz to suffer cause of my mystakes

its normal the plants look very healthy maybe just a tad stretched, but nothing major by any means. keep it up, and dont let the first time growers paranoia take over too hard. just ask us any questions along the way and we'll be glad to help!

As u can see the a lil bit of purple on the main stem

you cant tell the sex this early. it will be a few more weeks and they will start about 2nd node up

is the stretchinG bad for the plant
how do i stop the stretching?


by the way u see the m-gro feeder in my pic?
i mix it with that spray water bottle
how often should i mist the plant with it?
and how often should i water the plant with it?

i mist my plant 3 times a day breakfast,lunch, n dinner
and water my soil every 3 days with the same m-gro feeder in the water.
i count 2 sec when i water every plant soil to give a even watering.

will misting my plant with this kill it?

i been eyeballing this site for info on plants for a few weeks
but it wasn't much help.......

miracle grow is not designed for MJ and is therefore usually more harmful than good. doesnt look like its hurting anything at this point, but get something else specifically tailored for MJ for a better harvest

my soil is a n-18 p-06 k-12

my soil feeder is n-15 p-30 k-15

is this ok?
if this help with advice u can give me?

is it right for vege?

The one you called soil feeder is a flowering nute. The P ratio is higher than the N and K ratios.

The first feed is ok... but not ideal. Generally cannabis prefers a K ratio pretty equal with the N... a little less, but virtually the same concentrations.

Also, a ph meter should be high on your list.

An ec meter measures the levels of nutes in your feed. Not essential for a first grow, but they do come in handy when you want to perfect your art.

Your plants are stretching for light most likely. What lights do you use and how close are they?

i'm useing 3 Compact Floro Light 9 Watt<<<when i bought it on the box it said 40 watt?!?!
i also have 3 compact floro light 14 watts for later in da growth

my lights are 2-3 inch away from top of the plant

AS U CAN SEE THE MAIN STEM IS NOW PURPLE AND IT LOOK LIKE THE COLOR IS TRAVELIN DOWNWARD CAUSE IT STARTED WITH THE 2 STEMS ON TOP AND MADE IT THE THE MAIN STEM AND LIKE I SAID IT'S HEADING DOWNWARD!!

My Plant Had Started To Have A Sweet Funky Smell to it and it AWESOME XD
the smell finally came when the purple showed up on the stem

Never mist your plants... you will boil the leaves.

I'm the wrong person to ask about fluoro's as I think they're shit... but they do have some supporters on here. the favourite at the moment seems to be T5 fluourescents... so a search on the site should get you something. Victor Vicious is one of the forerunners in using the T5's.

You'll also want your fluoro's, those you have in particular to be no more than 3" above the plants. this will stop them stretching...

P (Phosphorus) ...........Deficiency: Plants are stunted and older leaves often dark dull green in color. Stems, petioles may turn purple. Plant maturity is often delayed.

This is also true of nitrogen... and also the most likely cause during veg'.

you should take down the tin foil and use mylar

get some bigger lights man the more the better, i know walmart sells them 42watt cfls my home depot in this area is bs, and dont never have nothing but i know they are supposed to sell them also...remember more light the better...and you will be smokeing yo own shit in notime...
