Purple sugar leaves?

Posted in newbies, no response so trying here, not trying to spam.
About 7 weeks in to flower, noticed some sugar leaves starting to turn a deep purple. Just want to ask if you think it’s genetics or a potential deficiency.
It’s bagseed so I’m not certain of the strain, and I know a phosphorous deficiency turns leaves purple, but doesn’t seem right. Plus with the nutes I’m feeding I doubt a P issue.
Temps 78~83, RH 48~58
FFOF & FFHF, feeding 3/4tsp cha-Ching (9-50-10) >gal (2 gal per water) doing a water, feed, water, feed schedule. Sf1000 about 16” above top cola 3x3x6 tent
Any thoughts?

The color does not look like a problem to me. I've had some plants where the upper leaves turn dark purple, almost black, even pink or dark red. I don't know about the upper fan leaves curling down like that though. Has that strain been growing like that the whole time? Was it dry when you took the pic? Maybe it's no problem, but I'm not used to seeing that.

Probably just really dry-ran into a small fungus gnat situation maybe 3 weeks back and I’ve been going longer periods between waterings-they used to get fed like 3 times in an 8 day period, been doing barely 2 in that time period the last few weeks. Did a few applications of Monterey’s and now gonna go back to a more normal watering

They look fine.
I've had the same as @Tracker - Last grow I had a dwarfed plant completely black-out -- a dark, red wine color from leaf-tip to stem.
 
Usually purple is genetic, but cold and P deficiency can make the purple come out more. It's pretty, but I've heard purple plants tend to be less potent. But hey that might be bro science so don't get out the pitchforks. Just what I've heard. I don't know if that's actually true though.

My Strawberry Kush has purp genetics - a few are turning now even though I can't swing my temps the necessary 20f to get them all to turn on this run.

I love the bro-science aspect to growing!
I've heard that too, also heard that purps make more potent weed as well - I just think they look cool! :bigjoint:

IMHO - My blackout plant wasn't any more or less potent, but I will definitely say that it had a unique taste; maybe a bit less body to the high.

I think 20f difference is on the high end of temperature differential. Do they stretch a lot during the first few weeks of flower? Those temp swings might be bringing out the purple too. My first run I had a lot of my plants showing some purple and I had drastic swings like that. Maybes just more bro science I'm spreading thought, lol.

That's what I thought too. They look over or underwatered. Or the heat is too high during the day.

I wish I could say that I have total control of my environment --- but I'm not even close!
Those temp swings happened 2 grows ago (finishing in Winter) - we had a couple weeks of extreme low temps (for SoCal) - mid '20s at night, 50s in the day (yeah I know - but that's why we pay the highest taxes on EVERYTHING!)

I didn't have large enough intakes (a 6" & a 4") pulling fresh, cold air from the window, so my high temps were in the mid 80's, but the lows in the morning hit the high 50's for a week straight - all but one plant showed purps, and as mentioned above; one plant "blacked out" in a deep, dark burgundy color from leaf to stem.

Strawberry Kush seems to have minimal stretch on an already small-ish plant - recommended for space challenged grows! The Herijuana that I'm growing alongside of the SK has outpaced it in every way - bigger, bushier, heavier, etc. No sign of purps at all, but what a frost show! :weed:

You should run lights at night. It might be cheaper electrical rates too.

I do - Cooler, cheaper rates, and less chance of my lights going down for a rolling blackout (Hey SCE - you guys SUCK!! :cuss:).
I added another 6" duct - now have (2) 6" and a 4" pulling from outside, and an AC Infinity T6 running at 6 (lights on) to keep 79-83f
Considering I have a shade over 1,300 watts in there, I think I'm in doing OK! :bigjoint:

I finally convinced my Wife to let me convert the spare room - at that point I'll probably just get a T12 and a mini-split to maintain the whole room.
Haven't told her that I'm also planning to set the 4x8 back up in the garage - I think it will be great for breeding.

Yeah there's a heatwave here in western canada... brutal. My AC unit can't keep up. All I can do is leave my garage door open from time to time and let the house's ac drop the temp. Plants are doing well though, plus it lets me water more often. Can't wait to try this Gelato, smells unreal.

I know it’s nothing really to be concerned about, heard from enough people to know it’s normal, but my girls don’t really smell at all. Every now and then I get a whiff of flower when I’m opening the tent, but otherwise if I touch a bud and then smell I get a very fragrant fruity smell. Looking forward to how it shapes up in the end.

Turn the fan off for 5 min and you'll notice pretty quick lol
