Purple Urkle - First time grow... feedback appreciated!

This is my first time grow so tell me what you think

I got these clones on the 12th of last month.

Rooted them in a homemade aero system.

Had a little trouble at first because I didn't realize the clonex solution actually had nutrients in it, and I mixed it at the labels directions and ended up burning them all pretty bad and also left the cloner unplugged for about 4 hours one time (dee de dee), but some have recovered well. I started out with 21 and now have about 8 doing really good.

Now they have been veging for about 2 weeks in 2 gal. pots in hydroton, some roots coming out the bottom drain holes and plan on transplanting into 5 gallon pots soon. Any tips on that would be appreciated too because they are in straight hydroton and we are putting them into hydroton in the larger buckets, I read some where about submerging the pot in water and letting the excess float and then pull the pot out from under... and then place into the 5 gallon pot. Does anyone know if this is a good idea or have a better idea?

Tallest plant is about 7 - 7 1/2" tall and they are almost all the same height now.

How tall should I let them get in veg?

And also I was planning on bending them because I have a low ceiling, what would be the best time to bend them?

Here are some pics

im assuming your doing those indoors. unless you have alot of lighting i dont see tham getting over 4 feet. unless you veg them 4 5 months

Yeah, they're indoor. And I was aiming for between 3 and 4 ft... closer to 3 for sure and yeah obviously not over 4. My friend who I got the clones from said his get to be around 3 1/2 ft.

They're under 32w florescents right now and in the flowering room there are 2 1000w hps.

UPDATE: These pictures were taken a few days ago, before I turned the lights off to start flowering. About 5 weeks of veg...

The lights come back on tonight after 36 hours of darkness. Can't wait to see these babies flower! They're bent over and the branches are about 17 inches tall. Gonna have a lot of nice tops! :D

Thanks! I've done a lot of homework. They had a slightly rocky start... they were all toasted at the beginning... I thought it was because I put too much clonex solution in, but I now think it's from the Azamax because I sprayed them right when I got them because they had mites! But whatever, they seem to have recovered strong.

The only worries now is that they're going to get too tall. Does anyone know how much the urkles will stretch? I'm thinking I'm going to have to bend the branches over and tie them down too.

ya mites can be quite a setback... dirty buggers! looks like you took care of them soon enough that they didn't affect you too bad though. i'm not sure of the stretch on the urkles, but you could definitely do some effective tying down at this point. supercropping could also help your height issues dramatically. if you're not familiar with supercropping yet search the threads here or check out a video on youtube. it's a fairly simple process, i broke a few branches off at first, but got the hang of it pretty quick. if you do decide to supercrop, i suggest trying it on one plant first, and then waiting 3 days. check the plants progress and if you are pleased with the results you can supercrop all your plants. i've seen lots of growers use this method successfully to control height and strengthen stalks for heavier harvests.

Update:

They're about 5 weeks into flower now.

Been having an epic battle with spider mites for the past couple weeks. Been spraying with azamax, neem, and iso alcohol and have bug bombed twice with pyretherum TR and they are STILL here.

Other than that they are doing amazing though. They are just starting to turn purple too.

UPDATE:

Day 39

Just bombed a couple more times over the last 4 days and hopefully they will stay gone or at least knocked down until harvest!

They seem to be doing great though other than the spider mites.
