The tips of your leaves are burnt. Either you let the light stay too close or you are over feeding them. Purple stems can be a sign of many different kinds of stress.

Think of "purple stems" on plants like "antibodies" in people. When antibodies are present that indicates an infection or reaction to a foreign substance. A doctor cannot see elevated levels of antibodies and discern between Syphilis or Pneumonia. It just indicates that something is wrong and it warrants further exploration.

Sometimes purple stems are from stress related to simple air circulation and temperature. Sometimes it is nutritionally based. And sometimes it isn't anything at all, just genetics. Based on the appearance of your plant's burnt tips I'd suggest your issue is more nutritionally based.

Ya, purple means those things. Your plant is turning red, not purple. Thats a... phosphorus deficiency, I think. I don't have my book with me right now, but I had the same issue. You did not say if you were using nutes. A 50% dose of normal veg nutes should help, then work up to 75% I had the same problem my first time because I had no nutes. I started giving them nutes and not only did they heal, bt they shot up a few inches that same night.
