Purposefully drown indoor plants before harvest?

I read an older post from “riddleme” where people stated that putting your indoor plants in buckets of water to essentially choke them out improved potency as a sort of slower cure. Like slowly choking the plant out when it is close to harvest by drowning it so it gets zero oxygen improves the quality and it cures while it is slowly dying. That is the only thread ive seen and people who triqed it swear by it. Has anyone tried that method recently? Thanks! Here is the origianl thread.

Intresting.

I'll be damned. I do the complete opposite. I quit watering a week out and trim and dry in the pot.

I thought it was dumping boiling water in the pot to kill the roots and cause it to start eating itself for a jump on curing. Not going to search for it though.
