The Perfect Dry and Cure, EVERYTIME!

This is my preferred method
It's the way myself and others have been doing it for decades. I'm not into all this slow curing, burping, hygrometers in each jar, etc... Too much hassle for me.

Plus I don't like the entire "The cure mellows it out" argument. I like it fresh. It mellows out as the terpenes degrade. I want terpenes. Old weed gets made into dry ice hash. A few months and it goes into the bucket for hash.

I don't like smoking old weed.

hello everyone, been growing about twenty years or so, and some of the finest looking, tasting, and burning sinsemilla is cured very much like the simon method that ive read on here. I will add a very useful tip for those wanting to preserve the fresh, light/lime green color of really good nug, and the trick ive learned over the years is to NOT trim the real small sugar leaves or anything adjacent to the calyxes off of the bud until it has had time to be almost smokable, for those who are skeptical, simply watch a bud that has been trimmed green and you will see the edges of where your scissors did their business start to turn brown and bruise first then the bruising seems to creep throughout the bud, even with VERY sharp scissor I have never been able to keep this from happening. i only trim off what can reach with my nippers WITHOUT even touching the very tender flowers, then i thread fishing line through the stems and hang them , only after they have been jarred and cured for a bit will i finish the trimming and i do make my buds almost spotless. I know that some of these things arent feasible with the quantity of some on here, i usually only grow about 8 to 10 plants at a time and only have to process 3 to 4 lbs of nug at a whack so ive got the time to spend to make it nice. plus i have the luxury of a VERY nice strain of old school indica skunk that grows colas that are some of the prettiest ive seen. Out of curiosity i had the flower tested last year and 24% was the average.

Flush is optional. I simply just don’t feed the last 2-3 weeks. Let the plant use it’s stored energy is all. I don’t care how anyone else grows, as long as you’re getting great buds
Regarding the flush, Is your medium inert or a soil/peat thing?

A lot of people get that hay smell because they harvest too early and it’s a shame.. I’m sure they’ll still get high but damn can you imagine not smoking great weed cause you couldn’t wait a couple more weeks lol
hello ..i need all the help i can get so i’m acceptable to most constructive criticism. I’ve growing for years with pretty good results but not cream of the crop results. I only been growing 1 strain for some years now GG#4 it’s has the glue smell and
sticky buds leaving resin everywhere. Could anyone tell me why my trees smell wonderful but taste just alright nothing at all how they smell. Could it be that’s just what this strain has to offer. Just got some new clones so just asking because I want these new ones to be all they can be. Also is it a certain fertilizer that works better than othere’s i’m using Heavy 16 but again if my results could be better with something else than i want to use whatever makes my product smell and taste the best it can. Thank you for any help!!!

I have this issue too.
This topic could be it's own super thread. And I will be there.
Did you do a search to see if this topic has some "prior art". :-)

What's going on I've been following this method for a while those guys are right Simon posted this maybe about 3 or five years ago but it's good information so no hate I experienced the same things that you're talkin about it smells good during the dry when you put it in the jars it smells good and then when you give it a 3 or 4 weeks your is still smells great looks great but the taste is good but not Elite and I believe that's because or comes down to pheno hunting and genetics you figure two parents may have one Michael Jordan and then have three other kids but all of them aren't going to be Michael Jordan some may be LeBron James Kobe Bryant so on and so on or some might be Paul George or Armand Green from the Warriors LOL so I guess what I'm getting at is sometimes it comes down to straight genetics it is what it is sure all the other things could be wrong early Harvest not a complete dry or not a sufficient cure but when you've done all of those it comes down to genetics

Great advice. I see a lot of posts are hidden so I'm guessing the trolls are after you already. If you hover over their username there's a really nice button that says "Ignore" do not feed the trolls.

10 years ago. Not just here either.
Sad thing is when people think their poorly grown, or crap weed, will somehow become better. No amount of burping corrects a bad pheno, or early harvest
