'puter help.

a few days ago my puter was hacked into and some information was taken. stupid shits. anyways, anyone know of a goood firewall program either free on the net or cheap. or anyother ways to up the security on this machine? im runnin vista. 32 bit if that means anything.

How are you connected to the internet? Most DSL/Cable modems provide adequate security IF you are not doing anything more than surfing, etc. If you start gaming/providing incomming access/etc then all bets are off.

I can think of many ways to get info off of a computer that's protected (not sharing, sorry) whether there's a firewall in place or not. If you can provide more info about the method of hacking, how the data was removed/sent, etc perhaps someone can point you in a possible direction.
