[q] 8/16 light cycle vs 12/12

Ok, i want to try something and i need some input on how well/bad this will turn out.
I don't want any 10 thousand gram grows(though, that would be so sweet).
I just want to grow as fast as possible as i have acces to soooooo many seeds(one plant hermied and it made like 1 hand full of seeds- enough to grow 3 years)
I want to veg my plants 1 week in natural sunlight and then go 8/16 for flower. Will this be ok, or will it kill them or make them stretch so much they will fall over(happens quite often ffs).
Should i go 12/12? I'd prefer to wait 2 week less(as i said I DONT CARE ABOUT YIELD, as long as it's 1/2oz or something similar)
Can i expect a yield as such in 7 weeks ?
I grow with a 150w HPS put horizontally so it lights the whole side of a plant from top to bottom equally, rather than just the top.
Sorry for my stupid question, i'm a noob and i can't seem to find the answer on google.

My opinion would be not to do that.I would think that you plants would stretch way out and you would stree your plants so much that you would not even get a half ounce a plant.I think that would kill the plant.If you want a harvest fast just do it 12 12 and make sure every thing is where it should be like ph ec ppm and air movement...

There are good reasons people use a 12/12 cycle.

As for lanky stalks try adding a fan to your grow area(s). The swaying back and forth will toughen them up. Bigger stalks mean more food going up to the buds.

So 8/16 is a retarded idea. Ok i can understand that. If it says atleast 10 hours of light, i will go with 10 hours and 30 minutes just because i like fast .

Your talking about veg'ing for 1 week outside, from seed, then moving it inside under 10.5/13.5 to try to speed up the process? I'm not trying to rain on your parade but I promise you won't get anything near and half ounce per plant. Maybe closer to a half eighth to an eighth if you're lucky which is a lot of time a work wasted for so little return. I know you don't care about yield but seriously Stick to 12/12 brotha. If you want to get some 1/2 oz plants quick then veg at least 2 weeks and flower a FULL 8 weeks at the very least. Then with your other seeds find a female make it a mom and start taking clones. Then you'll be able to get some quicker crops.

Think about it though. Giving your plant 1.5 hours less light each day for 56 days and you just lost out on 84 hours of light that could have made your nugs much bigger.

well, sir. i shall try it this way to see for myself exactly how far i can go with this. I will take a part of your advice and move it from sunlight to 14/10 then cut back the light to 10/14 over 2-3 weeks .

you could just go 12/12 from seed or do auto's .fast bud#2 is 7 and half weeks from seed

What Iv'e always wondered is if falling back to 10/14 or 8/16 at the very end of flower would do anything to increase resin or THC production as the girls might would be thinking winter is coming......

if your seeds are all from a hermied plant (non colloidal silver) it is highly likely future plants from those seeds will also hermie on you. you can try a grow or two for practice but imo you would be better to chuck them and start from stable proven genetics
