QB288 light footprint

Looked everywhere but can't find any info on this. Does anyone know what the 18/24" light footprint looks like for these boards? I've seen the HLG-550, but I'm trying to work out where the individual boards throw most of their light.

While I'm on the subject, 3 or 4 boards - and which drivers - for around 400w total draw for a 4x2 grow? I want 2700k or 3000k for pure flowering and 240v mains.

Other options are 1 x triple-board/heatsink with one driver, or 2 x double-board/heatsink with individual drivers. Triple board would run lengthways across the 4' side, double boards would run lengthways across the 2' side (side-by-side across the 4' side).

Final option would be to run a triple board lengthways, with supplement T5s running along each side for a bit of UV, specifically these 54w Horti FS+UV tubes: http://www.eyehortilux.com/products/powerveg-fs-uv-white.aspx

^ This option would add about 108w to the triple board running at up to 340w with a HLG-320H-54a (I'm guessing?). Though not as efficient as pure LEDs, it's the cheapest way to get a bit of UVA/B in there. Hell, even cheap old shop lights have a little UVA/B in them.

OK, one more question . . .



How accurate are these charts? It looks to me like the 4000K has more far red and UV than the 2700k and 3000K charts. Is it me, or are there little spikes at either end of the 4000 compared to the others?

depends on how hard you run it, how high you hang it, and your desired PPFD

can cover between 1 and 8 square foot depending on application

pretty sure there are ppfd maps on hlg site. if they are for the 550 just divide by 4 and you'll be close

I just want to know the shape of the output light to know how best to configure them. All I can tell from the 550 pattern is the individual boards appear to put out more light width-wise than length-wise.

Go to YouTube and checkout led gardener. Gives footprints with the info that you asked about concerning readings at different hang distances.

You can also go to YouTube search quantum boards and under results look for growlight depot video they have on measuring coverage and ppfd for thr 550

higher K is higher PPF (by measurement)
doesnt mean its the spectrum your plants want

consensus seems to be best pure flowering is right around 3000K. people do great with 3500k as well
