quckie....?

I have a closet that is 8ft tall approx. 2ft deep 7 1/2ft wide. just got a 650 watt dual lite has 2 bulbs 1 400 mh and 1 250 hps. lite is kinda old and bulky almost 20 inches wide and three feet long. will this be to much lite for maybe 3 or 4 plants. I Know i will need some ventilation. I am worried that the lite will be to hot for the wall and door, prolly only b like 2 inchs away on either side.

650 w is kinda a lot for such a small space. Install it, turn it on, and in an hour check it out, if that walls burn your hand, or the closet is on fire, Take it out. If its doing okay, keep it in. And make sure you keeep them lights high above the plants. don't wanna burn them.

Thanks jonny, i kinda figured that. Guess the better ? to ask would have been how hot does a light that big actually get does it get hot enough to start a fire. I had it on in front of the closet for three hours an still could almost rest my hands on the sides.
