Question about amps

I've got a 10" extractor fan that I would like to know what amp it is as I want to get a voltage controller to adjust the speed of the fan I can get either a 1.5 amp or a 6 amp
i have no idea about electricals

Look on the box, and or google the model number and brand of the fan, and look for the specifications!

It doesn't say the brand of the box so have no idea what the make is all I know is its 250mm

Assuming this is a centrifugal fan, the 10" models (800-900CFM) use around 2 amps. I would go with the 6 amp option.

Most speed controllers make motor groan at reduced speeds. Get a variac.

Fan should have markings telling you it's specs.

Also from my experience a 10" will be more than 1.5a

It's found 2stickers on the inside of the fan 1says 230v 3.3a the other says 230v 4.5a either way it's under the 6a
