So I have my first grow , and my plant is starting to smell like bud only when you put it up close. How much longer when the buds actually come out ?

it's 1 month old , I wish I planted it earlier. And I don't know what kind of strain it is , and I have it indoors

Is it a fem seed? Or do you got to wait to find out? What's you set up, lighting. Normally if you have a girl, it will take some were around 4 to 6 week for the pre flowers(buds) to appear. But not know the strain so I'm only guessing.

Nevertheless some strains do smell quite a bit even after 3-4 weeks of vegging. It has nothing to do with buds as it's too early. Some weed strains are just smelly from the getgo. If you are satisfied with the growth and the plant looks mature (nodes are not coming out in opposing sets of twoView attachment 2139580; but alternating: View attachment 2139579) flip them to 12/12 and a week later you'll see some preflowers that will help you determine gender!
