Question About Central American/Equatorial Strains and Flowering

I got a hold of some pure sativa genetics with Panamanian roots and recently planted them outdoors in the woods. My question is, will these plants begin to flower later than most? The longest day in Panama is June 21st, consisting of 12 hours and 38 minutes of daylight. It doesn't dip to that amount of daylight where I am until September 4th. Does this mean flowering won't be triggered until at least September, or could flowering be triggered naturally in July/August by some other mechanism? Thanks.

All my evidence is anecdotal, but these may not finish well...
Somebody with more expertise than "I heard a story once" would be more helpful, though

When is your average first freeze date?

I've got some sativa leaning hybrids, and they start and finish later than my other strains. A pure strain could be real long in finishing.

I'm in the New Orleans area. The first frost doesn't usually hit until late November, but could extend into January.

I spoke to the person who supplied the seeds. He said this African/Panamanian hybrid begins flowering in late August where he is, at the 37th parallel(slices from San Francisco to North Carolina/Virginia border). Down here in New Orleans, this means around mid-August before flowering begins. So it does seem that such pure sativas lag by around a month.
