Question about Flushing my hydro grow

Hello!

I am currently 2 weeks into flower on my first medical grow. My question is for the future. My AK-48's are set to finish in 8 weeks total flower time, and I want to know what type of flushing product if any to use. Does anybody have any preferences/favorites? I plan to flush for 7 days straight (week 8 of flowering) with reverse osmosis water, changing the reservoir daily until the plants give up all their nutrients. Is this a good method or is there a better way?

FLORAKLEEN? Or anything better?

I use General Hydroponics 3 part Flora series with 0 additives. No big bloom or anything. Just the 3 part series.
MY hydro setup is a top feed recirculating resovoir. I have 2000w of HID lighting. 9 Plants in hydro, 1 in soil for a total of 10.
The plants are currently huge, I vegged way to long and its an effort to keep them back from the light. For my first grow I'm still pretty pleased that they're not dead!

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Just plain water will work fine man if youre going to flush. Especially for 7 days. GH Flora is good stuff. I actually just use the micro and the bloom for the most part although i do add a bit of grow one week before 12/12 and for the first two weeks of 12/12. Im not big on additives either .....but let me suggest one product that i promise you wont regret. PK 13/14. Unless you have a massive grow a small 12 dollar bottle of it will last for a grow or two as you only use it for 7-10 days. It is wise to go half strength during application until you see how your girls react and its best used right after budset begins in earnest. It will cause'noticable bulking and heck even if it only gave a 5% increase in herb and you say youre using 2000 watts so you should get between 1-3 lbs 5% of which would be 22-66 grams of fine home grown herb fir 12 bucks.

I promise i dont work for canna nutes lol...any PK product would work im just partial to theirs.

Good growing man

Oh and while AK 48 has some very fast finishing phenos always harvest based on ripeness and not breeder times. I grew the 48 once and ran it 67 daysand it got fucking dense in that last 20 days.

First off thank you very much for taking the time to respond to me! I really do appreciate (and NEED) input from veteran growers. This is my first time ever planting anything!

Your response answered some questions and raised some more. If I may;

1) Tomorrow I will mix and put into use my second out of eight reservoirs. The chart says I will use 2.5ml Gro / 7.5ml micro and 10ml bloom for this week. Are you saying that my third and fourth etc reservoirs should have 0ml of Gro? And if so will this cut down on my stretching? I am currently having trouble with plants touching the light

2) Before I read your post I went out and bought GH Liquid KoolBloom (literally like 10mins ago lol) I am wondering is this the same as the PK 13/14 you just recommended me? I am familiar with the 3 part series as I've said, any other additives I know nothing about.

3) You say to sure to let my plants be harvested based on ripeness. My question is I will have 49 days of nutrients, followed by 7 days of straight H20. If at the end of the 7 day flush I notice the hairs are still white (no brown) should i just continue another few days of pure H2O to let it finish? Or would a grower mix up light nutes to give it a second week or two? I just don't know when it comes to minor flowering details lol

Thank you again! Sincerely.

Also, Grow pics are to follow. Put up or shut up right? ;)

The biggest are AK48. Nine plants total. Five of nine are Ak48. I then have 2 super lemon haze and 1 Jack, 1 Vintage 2006 for a total of nine in hydro. I started the lemons super late so they are very crowded out and I expect next to no bud off them.

Week 2 of flower! And yes I know they are poorly trimmed up lol I'm just scared to cut my girls. I feel as though they know better than I what leaves to keep or not.

try to do what you can to keep them away from the light, they look ok but i can see some burnt crispy bits amoung the leaves
they will recover ok from the odd leaf burning,
they will still grow upwards some more until week 3-4 then they will stop getting taller

you need to decided what to do now, either bend all the heads over or find a way to bring that light away from the plants
once the colas form they really do not like being in hot air, it makes the colas grow more leafy and it can even stress them into making seeds
your harvest will be so much better if you can get the hot air of that light away from the tops of those plants

peace :)

Thank you for the advice!

The last few weeks I've been fighting the colas to keep them away from the light. I tie them down and the next morning they stretch right back up. I Made two ametuer mistakes by 1) Overvegging and 2) not topping/fimming.

That being said I had no idea it would be so bad as to thin the bud or to seed them, both not ideal in the least. Is there a limit to how much I can stretch/bend my plant? I will continue to try to stay on top of the colas, I'm just quite literally running out of ideas to keep them tied down without being harsh on them.
