question about hair coloring and harvest time

i was told by the person that gave me an ak47 clone that the hairs will turn form white to red and then back to white and then once again go back to red and this is the time to harvest right before they turn all the way red again and i was wondering if anyone ever heard of this?

thanks for response but like i said white to red then white again before once more turning red. this guys been growing for 40 years inside and out. this is what he tells me but ive read alot of material here on this website and have never heard anyone else say this. ive smoked his grow for years and it is very good. is this just completely ridiculous advice or what?

i dont think its completely ridiculous, but as archiegreen said, check the trichomes.....get a 60x-100x microscope, and type in pictures of ripe trichomes. then match yours with the picture...

Its not about the hairs man, as others have said you need to check the tri's period!

Radio shack has the 60-100x lighted microscope you need...i got on it was only like $12 or something around there.
