Question about harvesting, trichome color, etc.

I've had something on my mind recently about harvest time, and I wanted to ask for some opinions. My last harvest (ak 48 ) I picked a little early some would say. There was hardly any amber trichomes but it turned out very good, some of the best I've had. My question is, I noticed while drying/curing, the trichomes turned from mostly milky to half amber. So if the THC will degrade to amber during the drying/curing process, then why harvest later? Why not harvest when milky and let the trichomes turn amber during drying?

Anyways thanks for checkin, let me know what you think

that's what most of us do. Wait for a small percentage to turn amber, and then chop her down.

If everything is still milky, you don't know when exactly the amber will arrive, so you need to wait til you see a few.

Until you see amber you have no idea how far along you really are. Well, Unless you have grown the same strain several times and/or you know when your plants are done because your familiar with them already.

That is why I harvest as soon as I see amber trichs, Not 50/50 like everyone seems to quote. I'll be closer to 50/50 if I harvest/chop/cure when I first see amber as opposed to if I wait until 50/50 to chop.

That is the exact information I was looking for, thanks guys. So maybe you can help me decide then. I've got some White Widow and Barney's Farm LSD about ready to chop, and I am thinking about doing it today or waiting till my day off next week. I'm gonna go take a few pics real quick.
