A lot of ppl will tell you "use the back of the hand test, if its too hot for the back of your hand its too hot for the plant". So far for me this has not been useful advice and I've heat cupped top leaves in a 75 degree environment doing it.
First, I'd recommend checking with the light manufacturers suggested distance. Lower your light a bit each day if you feel like their suggestion is too conservative.
Also the age of the plant will factor in, older plants will be more tolerant of light intensity than younger.
Personally, for a non-seedling/clone, young-adult plant I'd think 45cm should be alright. If you see those top leaves starting to cup lengthwise at all, raise your light.
