Question about pots...

I have the biodegradable pots (photo attached) that i planted my seeds in and the roots are starting to grow through the bottom...im assuming its time to transplant them, but my main question is can I just keep them in these little pots and plant the whole pot into a big pot or should i just take them out?

If you can easily remove it then do so. If not just leave it. Roots will grow through it. Or if you can use your nail and pick off as much of it as possible before repoting.

I've had a few bad experiences with those things. I personally would suggest using plastic party cups from now on instead of those peat cups

Those are your run of the mill peat pots. They are made from peat, a kind of moss. It is processed into a cardstock and formed into pots. I use them for clones and seedlings.

Yes they are biodegradable, just a bit moreso than newspaper. They also are acidic and can lower the ph of your soil. Roots will grow thru them, but not very easily. Not like rockwool. When i transplant them into larger pots, i try to break the pots up as much as possible so the roots dont get all cramped while trying to push through the peat pot.
