Question about ProMix

Add some perlite, so that the perlite is about 10 to 15% of the mix. You also need to add all the nutes b/c promix is a blank soil, which is good, this way you're in control.

I've had sucess with technoflora's kits for feeding.

if you want to amend it go for it. But choose early on if you want to feed your soil with organic nutes or chemical nutes. organic nutes take a while to break down int he soil but feed longer, chemical nutes feed pretty much instantly but will kill off bacteria needed to break down organic nutes. So make a decision on what you want to do and stick with it

pro mix is pretty good and shouldn't need the lime, but u can always add a little just in case, it will help stabilize the ph levels if they get to low

I should note that it is possible to use both organic nutes and chemical nutes if you have a plan, for example I top dressed my soil with blood and bone meal to act as fertilizer for veg and the transition to flower. Once im into flower a couple weeks I will start using my advanced nutrients connoisseur nutes which are chemical nutes. Starting to use chemical nutes will of course kill most of the bacteria eating the blood and bone meal but by this time its already done its job, has been mostly broken down and I will want to be hitting my plants with easy to absorb flowering nutes. The nutrients from the blood/bone meal that have already been broken down will remain available for the plants to snack on.

This is my organic soil mix - Promix 25% with 75% Roots organics 707 (I cut 707 cause it runs a little hot in nitro)

If u use RO water microbes thrive n u barely need to use organic nutrients but a couple times in veg n couple more in flower!

I have been using the Pro-Mix with Miccorhizae for about a year now with awesome results. I do not amend it in any way. I use FoxFarm Nutes which are synthetic/organic. Molasses as a bloom booster. I have heard of people amending the pro-mix with perlite, lime, or a manure-based organic fertilizer. I would be careful about putting in too much perlite as pro-mix is already pretty light. I would think that any more than 25% perlite would make it too light and cause some serious plant-wobble.

Blue Planet Nutrients base system (like you're using) is complete. You should not need to add any extras or additives. Remember they have awesome customer service and are happy to help. You can always email them if you ever have questions and they'll quickly reply.

Don't let it dry out unless you are using smart pots. It shrinks away from the sides of the solid pots and then when you water, the water goes around the sides and out the drain holes. Otherwise it is a great medium.

I'm going to be using Blue Planet Nutrients' synth line, just curious if I should add dolomite lime or anything of the sort.
Yes, add the lime. I do believe it has some but not enough for the entire grow. You will also need some perlite, they don't add enough.

Those 2 are essential no matter if you go synthetic or organic. I've run both and have used this mix for right at 40 years, so I'm speaking from experience, not from reading on the internet.
