I did pick up some MG sphagnum peat moss and some MG perlite and some peat cups. Should i wait until i put the cup in a bigger pot to use the peat moss and perlite or use it when i start the seed in the cup

LMFAO! Dude, never listen to those dip shits at Home Depot. They don't know anything. He was probably stoned - LOL!

Scott's is it's own brand...Miracle Grow is Miracle grow, not Scott's.

Either Scott's owns MG or Scott's has a soil they make called MG. Maybe that's what he was saying.

**update**

Scott's owns MG. But really the soils can differ. MG tends to have a lot of time release nutes in it. Check the NPK values on the soil to be sure.

You won't be watering much when they are young - SPROUTS.

The perlite helps with the drainage, so you shouldn't need it. I've mixed them together though. Either way you do it, you should be fine. Just don't over water!

LOL, may bad man. I was just using that as an example of a Scott's product. Yes, you want Scott's potting soil, not turf builer, unless of course you want to play some football in your free time.

Actually he was correct, i do merchandising, scotts and MG are the same company, and the soils come from the same location, all MG products are made by scotts.

Thanks bro! So I guess you checked out my grow journal?
I just measured them and they are roughly 9 inches tall. I'm thinking about waiting till they are a foot tall before I flower.

Damn, GrnMan, I feel for you. Getting dry is no good.

So the dude at HD was right, the company is now called Scott's Miracle-Gro. I had no idea. I was pretty ambivalent about them before, but now I don't like them. Big and bad. They announced a recall last week and they are being investigated by the EPA: Scotts fires worker over pesticide recall - Business First of Columbus:

To the OP, Home Depot sells Pro-Mix. Buy that instead. It's premixed for your pleasure!

It comes with it - that's why why they call it Pro-Mix. They have already mixed it up. I add maybe 20% worm castings too. At HD a few weeks ago it was on sale for $7.00 for a two cubic foot bale.
