Question about smells

Hello all i am just starting out and i live in an apartment and was wondering if anyone has had any luck using an air purifier to assist in keeping the smell down. I dont want everyone and there uncle who walks by to know what i am doing. Any information would be great. I wouldn't be using a scent to cover it up i just want to clean the air with the purifier and hope it helps. Any information on this would be great. I don't have a lot of money to spend on one but i will be getting one if i hear good things. Thanks in advance for help.

How big are you planning to grow? Im building a small one thats about 3x2x1 and i have a small homemade carbon fliter that seems to work well in my pre tests

Im not sure of the messurements of my closet as of yet but i am only doing 4 to 6 plants until i see if they are male or female and then with luck i will have like 2 or 3 females. the area is a small closet ( note to self buy tape measure ) But not tiny. This is my first grow and i wasn't prepared for it so i am learning a little as i go, i was doing research before all of this but these little ones were started by someone else and i inherited them when they had some problems so now i have these plants and nothing to set up the actual grow room. can't wait till pay day to get more stuff ready for them.

Well i feel like an idiot but until today i didn't know where to look to see what lumens I had, well today i found out i was actually using two 100 watt cfl's producing 1600 lumens per light at the moment i only have two lights so my lumens output is only 3200. how is this for 6 seedlings? i am sure i need more but im not sure how much more i need. any help would be great.

3200 should be fine but try and get some more lights like up to 5000 lumes but that should be fine from wat i know.. good luck

Check Faq's on lighting. I have used an ionizer( Bionaire) to remove odour, it works almost too well for a closet grow,I found it removed the aroma from the bud. Still I was growing in an apartment closet at the time...
