Hi guys, i have a cab that is 18"d x 34" wide, i have a 250 hps, and want an air cooled hood. Was looking at the super sun 2. My question, from 9 or so inches from canopy, would this hood light up my 18x34 canopy?

Thank you. What about the daystar ac?
Yep. Look at the bulb, imagine a line going from the center of the bulb to just miss the edge of the reflector and continuing until it hits your wall or floor. This is the max space for plants. It's best to over size the coverage otherwise the outside will be less intense than the center, if you setup to be 10% wider the reflected light from the walls will bring the outside closer to the same intensity as the center.

With your setup you could have a bit more light too. That is good because HPS is nice, but adding other lights to it makes for awesome lighting. Look at adding 100w in 6500k (LED or Florescent or 100w MH) and 50w in UVB (reptile 10% T5/T8 or CFL) . You will love me when you try the bud if you do.

Why a sealed ducted light anyway? Why not use open fixtures and just vent the area? Unless you have a need you just waste light passing it through the glass and spend more on the fixture.

Thanks once again. I was worried not about it covering the 18" depth, but the 34" width. My floor space is a rectangle 18" deep and 34" wide. I lst 4 plants and it takes the whole 34" to do so. I figured that at 8-9 inches above my canopy, that the footprint may not cover the 34" width of my canopy. The actual glass part of the hood is only 19-20" long, just didnt wanna buy the hood and it not cover my area. That being said, i figured that every inch i move it up, i should gain an inch or 2 of footprint. Does that sound right? Sorry for all the repeat questions but im waiting for good answeres so i can buy the reflector. For that space would you prefer super sun 2 or daystar ac?

I have good extraction but with the wing reflector and bulb 12" from plants it was still 84-86f so i figured air cooled. I really wanted the small adjust a wing defender because i knew it would easily cover my space, but again, those temps..
