What is the difference between T5 fluorescent and T5 LED asides from power consumption? Can you use T5 LED for vegetative? I only come across fluorescent T5 lighting in this forum!

I am also very curious about these, I've seen a few "t5 LEDs" advertised such as
http://www.lumigrow.com/products/lumibar-led-strip-light/
^that
and maybe something like this
http://growershouse.com/neosol-50w-led-plant-grow-light?gclid=CK_Y192axsICFRSGfgodEIgAtw

What's up with these?

Edit:I think I might actually be talking about something else, not sure.

I think the OP and I are talking about different things, but I'm pretty positive that link didn't help either of us.

but across htgsupply on the other side of the website is this shit
http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-AgroMax-LED-Strip-Light---White
What is this shit? does this kind of shit actually have any value in a grow room?
that's what we're trying to find out
Here is a link to a bulb similar to it! http://m.ecat.lighting.philips.com.ph/m/lamps/led-lamps-and-systems/master-ledtube-internal-standard/68172/cat/

It looks exactly like a T5 fluorescent tube but it says LED. I'm just scared that the kind of light in the spectrum would be different as compared to Fluorescent T5s!

It kind of looks like that's more designed to replace fluorescent lights in situations where there's a lot of t5 fixtures used for lighting like schools, offices, and stuff like that. I could be wrong though, if it's an LED grow light, then it would have a different spectrum than t5 fluorescent lights but it would still work.

also all the bulbs I see in that link are t8s

I see that we were talking about different things, I'd be interested in answers to both questions now

Are these 200w cfl's as good as T5's for vegging?

no you don't get the same light spread i have 3 of those lights at 300w each which is the highest wattage i also have an 8 bar t5 and the t5 wins hands down...those cfl's are good for small tents and cupboard spaces...not so good in large tents and big vedge spaces...also one more point those cfl's are not so good at flowering the plant takes weeks longer than a hps would...use hps if possable for flowering...peace-)
