Question about transplanting after already uppotting.

So I have two plants in a 4-5 gallon pot I just recently transplanted them on the 1/18/21 and I go to water them last night and I see roots poking through drain holes in my nursery plastic pots. Would you guys prefer to transplant again to a bigger pot before flowering????

also are you saying both plants are in the same pot? or each one is in its own 5 gallon.

if you plant to flip them right now that might be fine. but if you are gonna veg them some more I might go ahead and transplant once more like a week before u flip

I trans plant on the same day i flip. Its not the best or most common practice but its fine.

The only thing that is showing you is that the plant loves your soil. Any real healthy plant will fill its pot very fast. That dont mean you need to repot but it shows you that repotting wouldnt hurt anything. 5 gallons is quite a bit of soil....im guessing there is still plenty of food in there, if you do decide to repot then you wont need to feed them anything for another week or 4. ish.

I agree. a lot of ppl wait 2 weeks after transplant to flip so if you are going to flip today I would just leave them alone.

Yeah I’m kinda torn between transplanting or just switching them. I really wanna wait a little bit for them to get bigger and I also have some clones that haven’t rooted and one light ugh ‍

but I think the grow store I went to may have gave me a 3 gallon pot instead cause I really felt like they was small but idk the rim of the pot was measured at 11-11 1/2 so it seemed small to me. So I think I might go somewhere else and find a true 5 gallon and see if it’s bigger than what I have.

pots are measured in 38.2 different ways. its kinda stupid if you ask me. They have nursery pot #5 which is probably about 3 1/2 actual gallons , maybe 4. There is nothing wrong with using them but it makes it tough to find what you actually want.

its bc the majority of them are liter sizes. they just call them gallons bc of marketing. various sizes are close but I I think most 3 gallon pots are actually 10 or 12 liters, and we are all confused bc there is no standard.

So that’s probably what I have I assume. So I’ll probably go today and buy some bigger pots. Also does anybody have any tips or advice on how to transplant them when they are this big never had to makes me nervous.

Okay so I went to the store and found some classic 2800 nursery pots they are 6-7 gallons is what the guy said there so fuck it looks like I’m transplanting. Can anyone give me tips on how to or anything without fucking stuff up.

Turn her upside down and gently pull the pot off her.... very gently place her into the new pot on top of a couple inches of soil. Fill pot up with new soil , water her in. I would not break up the roots at all, if they stay together , then leave them be.

how big was the pot before the 4/5 gallon ?
Shes only been in the mix for two weeks.....i would wait at least another week or so.
