Question About Transplanting.

How do I know when I need to transplant? My plant is currently about 11 days old and it's in a cup about 3-4 inches wide and 6-7 inches tall. The plant itself is about 3 inches tall and it's beginning to sprout it's 7th and 8th leaves. Could anyone give me a general idea of when to transplant it? Unfortunately, I don't have access to a camera at the moment but I'll try to get a picture up later. I'd appreciate any advice, thanks.

Pop her out of her pot, if you have a good show of roots then move up a size. I would say a good show would be about 10% of the soil being roots. 11 days is a bit soon but check anyway. Do a bit more reading on here, alot of easy mistakes to make and opportunities missed to remedy probs like stretched seedlings.

A good tip is to start seedlings or clones in CLEAR plastic cups. This allows you to see how much roots you have. Now, light damages the roots, so just slip the cup into a same size plastic cup that is not clear, to protect the roots. I assume you're using plastic party cups.

I'm actually using a styrofoam cup about the size of a party cup, I had a bag of them at my house and I was trying to conserve money, haha. And I'l definitely start in clear cups next time with that technique, thanks. For now though I think I'll wait a few days before I even check, I don't want to ruin the progress I've made so far.
