Question About When To Trim My Drying Plants

I harvested my plants and have them hanging for about 3 days now - I decided to hang the entire plant without doing any trimming, so It would take longer to dry, my question is, when should I start to trim the fan and sugar leaves?, or could I just wait to trim everything b4 I jar the buds?? I have them hanging in a small dark room with the temp around 60-63 F and the Rh is a steady 58-60%, also got a fan blowing for air circulation...the buds still are very moist inside, and the fans leaves are also still kinda wet but dropping down over the buds, I check them every few hours for mold, so far everything's been good...any help is appreciated thanks

i personally trim straight away for 3 reasons.

1. the trichomes are still pliable and less likely to break off as i'm manicuring compared to dry sugarleaf/bud
2. it's a lot easier and less tricky, as the leaf hasn't curled up to protect the seed sack yet.
3. you get to smoke a hefty few joints of pure scissor hash afterwards as a nice reward

lots of other folks do it like your doing. each method has it's own madness so to speak, with some being good for you and some being good for the bud itself.

Just start trimming when ever you want, whenever you have time to do so. Ill start right away after, sometimes trimming while the plant is still growing. I dont think its that much of a difficult decision.

That's what I do. Trimming dry, I have learned from personal experience, produces the best possible aroma. You still get hash on your giant plate, platter, or table, whatever you're trimming over - it's awesome.
So, the whole plant? Maybe a week. How thick are the stems and buds?

the main stems aren't that thick, maybe an inch and half - but i got a few real nice colas, pretty thick - their all still pretty wet inside......the reason i hung the whole plant and not trimmed was because Ive tried doing the individual stems and doing a complete manicure, but the bud def dries way to fast, even with controlled temps....this time its for sure taking longer and the smell is staying very strong.....usually by now i would get the hay smell...but not on these.....it looks like another 3-4 days they should be ready to jar, so when I cut the buds off im just going to give each one a nice manicure b4 placing them into the jars....
