Question for any other Guam resident

Hello all, how ya doing?

I'm getting ready to order my first seeds, still not sure who I'm going to use but I've got it narrowed down. I just had a couple of questions for the Guamanians who are here...at least, I think they're here.

I just moved here and have heard that customs is really tough. The companies I'm thinking of using are based out of Europe and I know that customs inspects all packages originating from outside the US. So I'm just wondering if you guys had ever ordered from a company like this and had success with it.

Also, how strict are they here? If customs were to find the 5 or 6 seeds I'm planning on buying are they gonna try to track me down or just send me the letter saying they had seized contraband?

Anybody who can share their experience would be appreciated. Like I said, this is my first time buying seeds and my first time having anything illicit go through customs.

That kinda makes sense, anyone you would recommend?

I know they inspect everything shipped in internationally but I'm sure that something from Canada would warrant less attention than something from Amsterdam. It's just that I don't know how thorough they are. The volume of mail coming here must be small compared to what stateside customs has to deal with so I don't know if that translates to more thorough inspections or just less agents.

I have no experience with it in your part of the world, but here, when/if they inspect mail, they use dog`s so no hiding but in my part of the world seed`s are legal so they wouldn't do anything, if they find other stuff they would track you down unless its is considered a minor (like a few grams of Bud) then a letter with a fine is send to you, with out the Bud

I know that they use dogs, in fact I've seen more of them here than I ever did back in the states. But if the seed banks use non-porous packaging and avoid handling the packaging without using gloves the dogs shouldn't be able to detect, right? Or am I just totally wrong on that?
I'm not a novice smoker but I'm definitely a novice/first-time grower and have never had to think about stuff like this before.

I guess theres only one way to find out, I don't think they lock you up for life Bc. of a few seed`s but I agree, maybe better to order from the main land or canada etc then EU and specially holland if they are set to look for drugs

make sure to buy some cloning gel etc. and keep a mother plant, so you don't have to do this every 3-4 months

It's hard to get a handle on what the tolerance for cannabis is here. It's de-criminalized to a certain extent, from what I understand. Possession under 1oz is just a fine with nothing on your record, kinda like a speeding ticket. Being caught with a seed is a misdemeanor, I think. But there was also a guy that got 20 years for growing 3 plants.
Also, a senator here introducing a bill for medical marijuana back in 2010 but I guess it got killed since I don't see any dispensaries around.
It's strange being this close to one of the cannabis capitals of the world, Palau, and still having to drive around shady areas looking for people who look like they might smoke just to get the only medicine that lets me sleep.

I live in a non-medical state main-land, and I have to say I hear you on the only meds that work part bro. I simply cannot afford to move to a medical state right now, and have to have my meds daily or else I cannot eat. Just be as discreet as possible and always remember that you're doing this for your health and not just sitting around toking. Not that there's anything wrong with that.Take it easy man, and best of luck with your package getting through when ordered. Peace out.

Absolutely agree with recreational use but in my case it's definitely a choice between harsh pharmeceuticals, alcohol or cannabis. It drives me crazy that this place totally supports the abuse of alcohol (maybe supports isn't the right word but if you were here you would know what I mean) but has such harsh laws about a plant which has such less harmful effects on the body.
If anyone knows a safer method of getting seeds it would be much appreciated. At this point I'm drinking enough to get me to sleep without a horrific hangover in the morning but that is absolutely not healthy. I know it sounds like I'm just chasing a high here but there are some things, in my case at least, that therapy won't help with and nightmares are one of them.

I hear you, Im the same, sure I like the high and also use it social and such but the main reason is to sleep, that and to relive some stress, so I only use it after work and in weekends, in the evening, to stress off after a long day and to sleep and I rearly drink alcohol, like twice a year maybe and I HATE pills, I don't trust the chemical drugs, so that a no go for me, I hardly ever use normal painkillers either, that maybe also twice a year etc even normal vitamins I don't touch, I rather eat healthy and get what I need through that, grew up as a vegi, my mom still is (she`s a old hippy, was young in the 60/70ish)

If getting "Store Bought" seeds is causing you all this drama, why not just go for the obvious and grow bagseed? Once you get the whole "growing thing" dialed in, you can worry about obtaining "Name Brand" genetics then.

Good point and I definitely would if I could. I've been here just over two months and have so far found a single joint that cost me $40...that's not a typo.
I know cannabis is widely available here but I have a couple things going against me:

First, I'm kind of an idiot socially. It's not to the point where I have panic attacks but it's close, large groups/unfamiliar situations make me sweat and act like a weirdo. Aside from the promotion I got for coming here, the biggest reason for moving so far away from home was to force myself into uncomfortable situations. Kind of a "trial by fire" thing. I wasn't always like this and really want to come back out of my shell. Happy to report that it's working, but slowly. I went to a mango festival a couple of weeks ago and did pretty damn well, if I say so myself.

Secondly, I don't know many people (see above). I know about 30 or so people through work but we all work on a military base and I can't just come out and ask any of them if they smoke. At least not until I've been here a while longer and know them better. Although, the feeling I get already is that I would have no luck through any of them but I guess you never know.

Third, I'm white. It's not that there is a ton of discrimination here although there is to a certain extent. It's more that just being white means that everybody assumes I'm either a tourist or in the military. The military doesn't have the best reputation here as it goes with any large installations outside the US. That being said, when I did finally find a guy selling at random in a parking lot I got the aforementioned $40 joint. And that's after I somewhat convinced him that I wasn't a tourist or military, his original price was $100 for this weak inch and a half long thing. It worked so I guess I shouldn't bitch too much.

All that being said, if I could find a local seed I would definitely try it out but until then I'm kinda stuck ordering.

Ohhh shit!! May have spoken too soon there! I think I have a bag coming! I'm sure it'll still be crazy expensive but maybe I'll find a seed. If so you guys should expect to see a bunch of really dumb newbie questions coming from me . Hope you're prepared!

Alright, so I got a bag ($80 for maybe a sixteenth of an ounce...ugh) and found a single seed. I have my grow box all set up but so far have had no luck germinating the damn thing. Of course, even if I can get the thing to pop, there's maybe a 50/50 chance that it's gonna turn out to be male.

I love having to be a criminal just to grow a f***ing plant.....

SEED POPPED!!!!! Didn't think it would since it took so long but now I'm super excited! I know it'll be awhile before I know if it's male or female but for now on I'm going to refer to it as "she", just to put positivity into my first grow .

Question though, since I am an absolute newbie (yes, I know this is a stupid question but I haven't been able to find an answer during my super lazy google search.)

My baby girl needs to germinate for another day or two but after that does she need to go under the lights as soon as she is in the soil?

Over the years I've ordered from Attitude seeds in UK. Ordered a few times and no probs getting the seeds to the island. Doing some pollen breeding now, the cross is my strain called Kux's Kush (DP Blueberry x Fire OG).
