Question for Cali medicinal MJ patients

I'm considering getting a medical card/referral, but am concerned about something. Can employers, potential employers or anyone else checking your background find out if you're a medical marijuana patient? If so I'm not going to bother, keeping my job is a top priority.

Second question...my wife got a card last month and was told to bring in all her prescriptions. Being diabetic and having a multitude of other health issues, she has shitloads of meds. I only have one prescription, Indocin, for joint inflamation. May be gout, arthritis or a combo of both. Is that enough to qualify? I also have some back problems and go to a chiroprator several times a month. He's a health kind of guy, and would never cooperate in any way

you dont have to tell the chiro what you want your records for, you just tell them you want a copy of your medical records. I used my chiro records for my recommendation. I have a lot of health issues but dont go to the dr for them cause I don't have insurance. Take your script and your records and you'll get your recommendation. Don't stress too much getting approved... this was the easiest thing I have ever done. I love the program, it really helps and makes me feel safer about medicating.. but its a joke, ANYBODY can get recommended

not as far as I know, I work for the federal government, but they don't drug test so they haven't found out about my card. I think they would look for that sort of thing, as I got hired after I already had my card.

I'm just wondering if it would be considered as medical records = confidential. But then if you apply for different health insurance, can they check on that? Or just your primary care physician's records?

Alright, cool. Around these parts you just get handed a piece of paper from a doctor. I hear (but don't know for sure) that you can also get an actual card from the county. Now THAT info has to be available to those interested, no?

no, your are assigned a # and your paperwork is destroyed. the state card is simply a second verification. you give the state your info. they approve it and assign you a number as an approved patient. then you get a card with your pic and your #. when you get checked by law enforcement they look at the pic on the card and verify that that is you. then they call in the number to check your medical status. your name is never used. except on the original application. which, from what i understand, is destroyed once your card is issued.

This is not true. Recommendation is the only requirement to be lawful.

Certain individual dispensaries require the state ID card (prop 420).
