Question for protekt users

I would like to use protekt in every watering (with aloe vera juice and coconut water) and in basic ewc teas. My question is, does protekt need to be added to the water first as you do in hydro before adding your base? Or can it be added after? Does it matter in soil? If I add it to a ewc tea, should it be added after aeriating and just before application? While we're on teas...quick question; does a tea HAVE to be diluted? I was planning on just bubbling 1/4 cup ewc with a drop of floralicious plus or molasses in a gal and watering straight...would this be too concentrated?

no , that would not be too concentrated at all , i do it all the time. you only dilute them cause you can. if you have no need to dilute it then you wont need to. now im just talking basic teas like you are..... compost/castings, air , water an some food for the microbes. (molasses)

i dont personally like to add much food to the tea besides a lil molasses an lil bit of kelp or seaweed. (before the brew) after its aerated add your regular diet to the tea then use it right away. thats my opinion based solely off elain ingram an a few guys on these boards.

there are some crazy tea recipes out there now that folks are using with plenty of education to back it , but i just havent had the time to read all that yet. in ms. ingrams book, the correct , very expensive tools were used for all the research , so ill just stick to that till i want to line my head with more fat .....then i ll read/test some of the crazy teas out there.

Thanks for that. Yeah, there's so much info out there and i'm trying to digest as much as possible. Need to pick up Teaming With Microbes too. I'm new to organics and teas, so I aim to keep it as simple and basic as possible while still providing moderate benefit until I know what the hell i'm doing

Protekt is very alkaline and adding it to a tea that has been brewing for a while will swing the pH up and could have a negative effect on your microbes. Personally I wouldn't use it with a compost tea at all. Rather I would alternate between the two when watering.

Sure. Maybe i'll save it for the aloe/coconut waterings and foliar feedings then. Do you know if it matters when it's added to the water...first or last? My instinct is to add it first as you do in hydro, but I think I read over in ICmag that if you add aloe to water with protekt, then you get the clumps. Can't find the thread now though...and I think that might have been in the context of using protekt as an emulsifier.

Another question! I have azomite on hand and I was wondering if a moderate amount could be added to an ewc tea? I thought I had read that microbes would benefit from rock dusts. Although azomite is also alkaline at pH 8 and I do have one cup in 2 cubic feet of my soil mix.

I use pro-tekt once a week max. I also use a bit when I'm doing a foliar.

I water 3 times a week. In veg and early flower they get an AACT once a week (ewc, unsulphered blackstrap molasses, and kelp meal), a coconut/aloe watering once a week, and a fulvic acid and pro-tekt watering once a week. Great results.

Sounds like a good routine. Is it Ful-Power you use? I have that on my list of stuff to pick up. Being as Azomite contains 60 something % silica, maybe I should cut back on the protekt after all. Thanks for the response.
