question on dwc spacing.

Alright, I'm trying to start my own dwc system. I've pretty confident on everything, besides my area.

I'm got 4 feet of hieght in the crawl space I'm using, and have a few worries/questions. Is it

possible to grow some decent yielding plants in this area using lst, because that seems the smartest

technique. And to maximize space for the plants I'm going to use a tote that is 10 inches high, but

really long. Is that okay for the roots?

LST is probibly not the way to go. In that small of space I would go SCOG. Any other ideas??

Sorry, the more I thought about it LST is good but start early. Also consider sativa/indica. Both can be utilized by extending veg for indica.

If you are growing large plants try to reinforce the top of your tote as it can collapse from more than one Large plant and can pull the net pots holding the plants through the top of the tote. I had great luck my first grow in this manner but had twice as much headroom as you do. LED's/CFL's?

I was thinking 4 plants, sense they only have a lil amount of room to grow. And I'm picking up lights in a week or so. Do you think having the roots go further across than down will be a issue though?

the tote is fine, get the smaller netpots. you didnt mention sq.ft and watts of light? do you have an option to put a control res below this chamber? (other than the tote that is)

Good call on the control res. That's all I really wanted too know, if its possible to have some nice yielding plants under those circumstances.

i'm asking about the control res because it may suit you better to have a flood/drain instead of dwc, but depends on conditions in your room, how many squared feet? you only mentioned height, and how many watts of what light?

Well, I can have a raisedd res that will level off the water in the tote. And its a crawl space that's in a triangle shape. Is mad long, like 30 feet and is like four feet wide. And I'm getting lights in a week.

And google lst, but its basically manipulating your plant to grow many tops by tying down the original top.
