Question on Smell

I am wanting to grow say 5 plants in my closet in my room. the space is about 3feet wide 7ft tall. I just wanted to know if I happened to grow 5 plants and they are all female, how bad would the smell be? If some 1 walked into my room would they be like wtf is that smell?

if your talking about growing in your parent's house forget about it.

I just have the one I rescued from my friend's windowsill, and when I walk into the house after being away a few hours I can smell it - faintly, but it's there. And it's not very big at all.
I imagine five are not something you'll be able to hide from other people in the house. And if it's not your house, wait till you've got your own place.

you wont be able to hide five unless in absolutely totally and completley sealed and your running a filter....

I live with my grandparents. As Long as the smell wont leak out to the front door I want to try it. How about a carbon filter and keeping Inscence and air freshner sprays going?

What is the smallest amount of plants I can get away with smell wise?

just build or buy an air filter. Small ones are easy to build. build a room that fits in your closet to seal in the air that needs to be filtered.
even just 1 plant can get smelly, it just depends on a lot of factors (agitating can make it smell, size, strain, etc...).
If your on a budget get a few designs/layouts going and see what people think. if your technically inclined you can build most of the stuff yourself. the only noise problem to worry about with a closet grow is the Fan, that is if your ballast run quiet.

i have 1 plant, and my whole apartment stinks...

if you really want to try then you can try a box, use CFL's to keep the temp under control, and use PC fans for ventilation...

look up dressers or entertainment centers around your area in craigslist, or if you want a cardboard box (I use cardboard and it works fine, if you don't mind the fire hazard) and try to make something out of that....

you will need a DC converter, go to radio shack, or ebay, or craigslist.

clamp lights, Y sockets, and 42 watt SoftWhites and 26 watt Daylights....

about 150 dollar investment just to get it going....
