Question Regarding Ebb & Flow vs. Ebb & Grow

I have a question for those who may have tried both the ebb and flow and ebb and grow methods. I'm currently working on developing my new grow room and I'm considering one of the two options. I've grown in soil in the past and have a little knowledge of hydro but with the exception of building a DIY cloning unit using DWC method I've had little luck.

I'm looking to grow large plants due to my space restraints. I figure I'll let the plants each veg to 1' to 2' before moving to flowering. I'm concerned with an ebb and flow table method I'll end up in the lights or ceiling before the cycle ends. With the ebb and grow I'm concerned about the roots filling the containers to a point of causing issues, drain clogs, root rot, etc.

Anyone had luck with growing trees with either method? Any shortcomings or thoughts I should consider?

if you start at 1.5' on the table they will probably end up around 3-4ft', but 2ft and higher you might run into some outliers that grow pretty tall like 5ft+ never done ebb and grow so not sure what to tell ya there but ebb and flow would be good for 1.5ft @ flower in like 8'' net pots

Yea, even at 4' final when you add in the 2' roughly rise of the table you're at 6'. If you're contending with a 9' ceiling cap that doesn't really allow enough space between the canopy top and the bottom of the lights. I imagine a 1000 watts could lead to some heat issues on the tops of the plants.

I don't know I'm still thinking through it.

I'm new to the whole ebb flow thing myself. But I bought an active aqua grow and flow 2.0 And I must say I am loving it, way less work then DWC or dirt. And the square 5 gal pots are ideal for larger plants, only draw back I see is them pots hold a lot hydroton. When the time comes it's gonna be a bitch to clean it all.

depends on the strain too honestly.. some indica strains only go about 3x from size of clone to final cut.. ebb and flow is tons of fun... :) weekly fresh reservoir changes, under good conditions you have a lot of control
