Question Regarding Lime

This is my first year ever using lime and from what i have been reading it takes forever for it to start to working. I have been throwing a cup of dolomitic lime per hole 3x3 and was wondering if i was wasting my time. Will it even be doing it any good this year as i plant.

good idea, the dolimite acts as ph buffer as its very slow release, also gives your plants added calcium.

yeah, I'm afraid so. Here in the Pacific Northwest we have to use it for most garden areas and lawns as it rains so much and leaches out the lime.
We do it in the fall AND again in spring.
I've heard steamed bonemeal is a fast acting ph raiser, but then you've got animals attracted to your grow.
I'd go with the slaked lime if you need to get your ph down a lot, fast, let it cook a month and you should be good.
