Question regarding seeds, where to get them etc.

Hey guys.

So, living in the US, in a state where Marijuana isn't legal to grow on your own, I have a couple questions.

I've grown mushrooms before, and have always said, growing marijuana, just for myself, was ALWAYS on my bucket list. Something I HAVE to do in my life. I love the science, and all that of growing something so wonderful.

So my question is, the only marijuana I get in my area, is schwag. Nothing I'd want to grow. So where do I actually get top of line seeds? Online? On that vein, I've seen websites that tout "feminized seeds"...is that the best way to go?

Lastly, is it safe to assume everyone here growing is doing so in California and or Canada where it is legal? My biggest fear is getting busted for growing two plants for myself.

as far as feminized seeds.. if you're only going to grow one or two plants and don't have a lot of room and aren't planning on doing any breeding, i'd say fem's are a great way to go.. some people talk a lot about hermies from fem's, but i've never had any problems with hermies from fem'ed seeds.. just stick with the better breeders fems and you should be good.. dna, sagarmatha, dinafem, dr greenthumbs, reserva prevada, and some others are good..
i'd stay away from places like greenhouse seeds, nirnvanas fems can be hit and miss, and that's pretty much it for now..

Any particular breed you guys recommend for a first timer?
Looking for strong body, mellow stone. Nothing "energizey". lol
Preferably something with a quicker turn around.

hmm, northern lights from say sensi seeds.. ahh, hmm, sweet tooth has a quick flowering time.. some kushes can finish in about 8 weeks or so.. i've heard good things about dna's og18, and i'm growing larry from cali connection atm that should be done in 9 or so weeks, and fits the bill for sure..
i'd stick with anything more indica dominant.. use the seed finder option on the attitude site.. put in indica or indica dom, short flowering, and see what comes up... look through them and come back to this thread and post what you're looking at to get some more feed back on those ones to help narrow it down some more..

You can read some reviews in the smoke report section also to see how it grows and what you should expect a product.
