can anyone using t5 h0s give me some advice, im running in a gl 60 tent with 4 ready grow cubes sitting on a 2x2 tray with a 8 lamp t5 h0 fixture. how far above the top canopy should the light be, if i leave it anything under like 2 feet it drys the medium out quick and even being 2 feet above right now the temperature is like 10 degrees more at the top of the canopy (like 85) then at the bottom of the tent. (75)

I keep mine around 2-4" from the tops. I try to keep closer to 3", since at 2" the leaves start to curl down from it. To do this I have an oscillating fan blowing across the bulbs, and it stays under 80f 2" down.

Sounds about right.I use them as well and this is how far i usually keep it and i use a fan as well to blow on the bulbs.I only use it to veg/clone tho.

You didn't mention a screen. In order for those t5's to be real effective you should use a screen and tie the plants down to it and form a flat even canopy the width of the light.

^Go with 2", just to be safe. I've used T5's, and never had them burn my plants, unless they were actually touching the bulbs, but, with no fan, I'd give them at least 1". You can always bring it closer, as you get the 'feel' for the setup, and whether it's too hot by the canopy, or not.

No problem man, I couldn't just sit back and watch somebody losing most of the benefits of their killer veg light.

I lowered the light to about a half an inch over the tray and the plants are another 2 inches down inside the temperature at the top of the canopy is 96 degrres and rising
