T5's are amazing for veg. you need to keep them very close though for tight internodal spacing.
look for around 6000K-7000K spectrum bulbs.

well i keep mine atm about 3" away from the top because the fing strings wont let me get closer. but once they get bigger i plan on keeping them about 1 - 2" away because this fan i bought is fucking amazing..

vegging is new to me when it comes to blue light spectrum because my first grow i used 5x 64 cfl then upgraded to 2x 150 watt hps.. then when i grew my northern lights i skipped everything and just used the 600w hps from veg to flower.

yes you can go from veg to flower with a HPS with good results. but you will see more vigurous growth in veg, if you use bulbs as close to 6700K as you can get, this is the optimal spectrum for vegging marijuana , you will also save electricity using the T5 over the HPS. It also minimizes growing time, as you can veg your plants to size quicker. and begin to flower them quicker. thats why people switch from MH for veg to HPS for flower. If i were you I wouldn't have bought the T5, but a 600watt MH conversion bulb. you can run it on your HPS ballast. the T5 is ideal for veg either way. you could of saved money though depending on what kind of deal you got. but from what i saw T5's 4bulb run for $250+

HPS is ideal for flowering the plants.

amazing deal, may i ask where you bought it? I was looking into the T5, all brand new ones I found are around $250. which is ridiculous considering I found a 400watt HPS kit thats reflectors, ballast, hanging equiptment, bulb, etc, for around $120
