I imagine the nutrients you're using are soil-based? If so, I don't really see any need to "flush" since you'll be releasing more nutrients into your root zone and that would defeat the purpose of flushing. Unless you're doing for another reason?

I use fox farms nutes in 5 gallon buckets and never flush. Just follow the nutrient schedule and alternate watering and feeding. When I get to the last 2 weeks before the chop its water only.

No need to flush until before harvest. You'll simply be washing away valuable nutrients.

Please keep in mind, the Fox Farms feeding schedule does include flushing twice with sledgehammer to remove any built up salts.

Good luck and keep us posted.

That's because their nutes are salt heavy Urea based. They, in time kill off all the good living things in your soil that really do the "work" of feeding the plant. Why run soil and "kill" it with nutes that take soil and simply make it a brick that holds your plant while you pump it with synthetic nutes that mimic the way hydro works.....It's not "using" the soil for anything more then an inert media!

You should NEVER have to "flush" soil grows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's MY story and I'm stick'in to it!!

Yes and that's due to the very nature of the nutrient your using.
Anything Urea based is not good. VERY salty.
Try and avoid any brand that uses Urea in the base formula's for Veg and Bloom.
DO add to your formula some type of Myco. These can be in the form of a "Zyme".
Some well known liquid "zyme's" are,
Canna Zyme ,, from Canna
Power Clean ,, from Hesi
Zyme ,, from Cyco
Voodoo juice ,, from Advanced Nutrients (WARNING: AN's base nutrients are formed with UREA! avoid).
There are powders and of course what I use. A home made AACT tea.
These will help you avoid the "brick". They can also help reduce nutrient use some what. This fact is mostly related to the use of an AACT tea.
