questions about an A51 flower and Hans veg (w/ virtual cabinet porn bonus)

Hey Ladies and Gentle people, I'm weighing my options between the different generations/models of hardware from the both of them

here's a little context: footprint of each of the 3 spaces is 2'x6' with and will be training for mainlining..

Flowering - 2 A51 panels
seems like the move. Pro-good performance, good price, and quiet. (note:I'm using whisper quiet fans)

  • Now what do i buy? the red/white 2013 or the new all white 2014? How do these compare on paper? most likely i will decide before the new red/white 2014 is available.
  • could always get 2 of a model and 1 of the other for a total of 3 to absolutely murder the light situation. The cost of electricity is not an issue. I mean it is, but its all gravy with LED8-)

Veg- 3 Hans mother panels.
  • Would i be better off with 4 in there- 1 panel per plant? They will fit.
  • another consideration is the training style. I wonder if the short internodal spacing i can expect will make mainlining tricky?
  • should i go with the new dual panels for my veg over the mother panels? If veg growth with either hans panel is close,it may be smart to have the flowering option for some setup in the future.

Utility space for moms beans and clones-2 Hans mother panels and a CFL for the "shoe box'

  • pretty sure this is the way to go with this. I can flex this space and remove a Hans and add another CFL and shoebox or whatever if needed

thanks for having a look!

The all-white 2014 spectrum will be the silmilar to the 2013 veg spectrum as both use neutral ("Outdoor") whites:

For flowering this would be lacking in the red.
The 2013 red/white spectrum looks nicer for flowering and it has the very efficient XP-E red diodes.

The downside is that it has older XPG whites which are notably less efficient than the XTE's in the 2014 model

Btw you can edit your post to fix the attachments.

Lovely cabinet porn, but you have a total overkill of veg power! Five of the Hans mother panels is 280W of ultra efficient LED power. I believe you could do well with just two panels in the veg room and put clones, seedlings and mothers there as well. You could add a regular Hans panel to the flower cabinet and it will add some nice deep red to the spectrum.

I don't know how much cost is an issue but if you want to save a bit more and if you are willing to repot the plants you could do away with the upper veg space altogether: Just start out with smaller pots and put everything in the lower veg room. You can also take clones of the clones that are about to leave the veg room, obviating the need for mother plants.

And the extra Hans panel in the flower room is really just gravy on top of other gravy.

These are just my thoughts, would love to hear what others think.

im going to stick with the mother bean clone space. i want things to be organized clean and roomy as i can make it.
I am a first timer so i dont know shit but....

  • I will start with 10-15 TGA seeds ( i havent decided strain yet-either marionberry, jillybean or ace ) i will take clones as i train for 8 head mainline
  • send a clone of each plant being trained for mainline into flower to determine sex> i want to avoid forcing sex and revegging a plant im mainlining.
  • all girl clones will continue to flower. don't really care what they produce
  • pick my 4 gals from what I've been training for 8's and have fun in some artificial sun.8-)

edit. i will be repotting for sure . the pot pictured is a 7 gal geopot to depict how much room the plant will take up at Max.
buying a couple extra hans panels is not gonna break the bank but. i will be able to start earlier by just getting 2 A51 and two hans mother panels. i can add the others in as I progress

I would not buy the Hans mother panels........only the flowering models because on the second setting it performs around the same(with less electricity) and you always have the option using the full flower setting if needed.

Same price makes it a no brainer;-)

nice one psuagro. that's what i was hoping was the case.

Would 2 of the Hans take care of my 2x6 veg on 4 plants in 7 gallons? 3 units are fine by me also, considering the lower draw of the middle veg setting. One thing to consider is the ceiling in that cab is just within max suggested clearance with the final veg height of 7 gallon mainline (i think). i would not be able to raise it any higher towards the end of veg if i needed to for some reason. I want to make sure every girl is washed with the right ratios of color.

Somewhere here i red that someone advised one Hans per plant, but i think they are referring to a full veg to flower grow with just the Hans

EDIT-just thinking that the internet is awesome and there are places like this and people willing to help people like me out. thx doods and doodettes
