Questions about first setup?

I have never grown before and am looking to start at the end of this year when I get my own apartment. Before I start buying all of my materials I would to get expert advice from some experienced growers on if my setup sounds like it will work efficiently. All advice and input is greatly appreciated! Trying to grow 4 plants with highest quality and quantity possible.

for around $200 without tax or shipping you could get a 4 foot 8 tube. Look for the sunblaze 48. Unless it simply won't fit, you will be happy you got more tubes, and if you really only need 4 at any point, you can turn half of the 8 tubes off.

I personally think soil is easier to get going for a novice, and there's little question soil is far more forgiving. If you don't mind spending a bit more time and a sharper learning curve nothing wrong with starting hydro :)

Something else to consider is co2. indoors you typically have more (averaged outdoors co2 levels are around 600, indoors they tend to sit around 800-900), and if you are venting properly then adding more without sealing the room is going to be worthless. Using CO2 in a sealed room can have significant effects on yields, however to do so every single other bottleneck that could effect growth will have to be removed. To utilize the extra CO2 is going to take a perfectly dialed in grow, and few people with less than a year experience and several crops with a particular strain will see the major benefits. In other words, save the money, get a few crops under your belt, and once you feel that you are getting everything you can from what you grow, seal it off and invest in co2 :)
