questions about growing..please help..

first of all id like to thank everyone on this forum everyone seems very chill :joint: :clap:
im starting a cfl pc grow box grow and i got some questions before i just jump into growing.

could i just get some soil from outside and bake it in the oven for 3 hours to kill all the insects and etc?

how many days do i veg and when do i start flowering i heard you do 30 days veg and 60 days flower is this true?

how many days do i water my plant?

what is trimming rogue leaves?

I would not recommend that.

In a PC case I'd do 1 or 2, I would veg for about a week or two then flower to keep your plants small, or flower right from seed. You can also look into Autoflowers for small grows.

how many days do i water my plant?
Whenever they are dry, it's good to water once the soil has become dry, go wet to dry cycles. It will depend on medium and pot size on how often to water.

what is trimming rogue leaves?
Not sure about 'rogue' leaves. I'd personally try to tuck leaves that were blocking light from the buds underneath of them.

one more question when i switch to flowering does the plant still grow taller? or will it just start to bud at the height i started to flower at
