Questions about setting up a new grow

I was planning my first grow. Was planning on using a corner of my basement and venting out under the deck. However i have some concerns about temp and intake. My basement is fairly cold. Usally low 60s high 50s. will a 600 mh/hps keep it warm enought ( 4x4x8 )? And its kind dingey so im gonna use a filtered air intake should i use a 6 inch hepa filter or a small charcoal can?

600mh would keep that warm enough, why do you need to filter the air intake other than to stop bugs?

a 600 will keep your tent nice. Get a temp controlled outlet like this

to plug your exhaust fan into and it will keep your tent at the temp you set it for.
When the max temp is achieved, the exhaust fan kicks on drawing in all that cool basement air and shuts back off when the temp drops back down about 2-3 lower than max temp.

Also, keep in mind mold spores can travel around every time you unzip or open your tent up. A filtered inlet is a great start, but not a "cure-all".

You have a perfect area to grow just clean it up really good, think everything through extremely well then give it a go. If it fails tear it down and solve the problem. When it is all working great with no chance of fail get some real strains going.

Well thanks guy anything tips you could throw my way a dwc system like what nutes to use or anything. I was gonna use foxs farms full line up

I'm doing a homemade aero tub with gh flora 3 part. I'm doing Lucas formula now just using 2 parts.

I think my set up is easy and cost effective. I haven't researched dwc alot but the growth can't be any better than aero.....?????..

You should clean the whole basement. Get a pump spray can and hit it with something to kill mold. You will be pissed if you set up real nice and then your plants get attacked

I have a pestacide sprayer and ill do a mix of liquid chlorine and lab grade hydrogen preoxide and spray the walls and floors to make sure i kill everything

Cool. You are lucky to have a basement. I'm attic and Im fighting heat. It's a real cocksucker. Would love to have your problems instead. Lol

You could probably run 2x 600s and probably have to air cool them anyway in the summer...

Completely seal your basement with black and white.

Intake from outside. Lower cfm then your exhaust. Exhaust through a filter to outside.
1000w x 2 air cooled. Separate fan for light and filter.
DWC - canna coco. A + B thats IT IT IT IT ITITITITIITITIITITITITTITITIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the best way to do it. But your going to say its too expensive. Ok. youll only yield a few lbs per month done right.??????????? Why PPL CHEAP???? CHEAP = 1 ounce.

600 are more efficient. 400 is the weak one in efficiency in the 250 400 600 1000

Either or. GL! The thing going for you. Is your dwc in cold temps = no root rot issues.

Might want to do a little reading up on that mix before you go douching your basement in it. I believe it creates chlorine gas which is toxic, and the h2o2 would neutralize the bleach anyways rendering it useless.
