Questions, new grow Jack Herer

Hey Guys, I’m a brand new first time grower, hell I barely even smoked until a doctor friend of mine suggested I try it to deal with stress… I love my doctor, I think she just wants me to grow it so she can have some LoL!
I purchased 10 Feminized Jack Herer seeds and I’ve been doing extensive research on the web and have decided to grow them via the SCROG method but I have some questions!
1) Am I really going to get all ladies??? I’d hate to be unweaving a dude from the SCROG, anyone have experience with feminized seeds?
2) Jack Herer is mostly Sativa so she’s gonna be tall, should I give it a little more room then the typical 1 sq foot per plant rule in the screen?
3) I was thinking 3.5’ x 3.5’ screen area so that’s 1.225sq foot per plant (if I get all 10) is a 600w hps/mh light going to adequate?
4) Hydro or Soil? I’m home every night but work long days, how much maintenance does a hydro setup really require? If a pump break down would my plants be harmed in 12-14 hours if I wasn’t around?
That’s it for now, let me know if the 600 watts is going to be enough or should I order the 1000W one , I never plan on growing more then 8-10 at a time but Heat may become an issue..

yes, they will all be female. Unless, that is, they are put under stress in any way; e.g. heat stress, light ingress, irregular light periods, high humdity etc - then thy can turn hermie.

although to tell you the truth, i have grown fem seeds loads of times and have never had a problem.

JH is mainly sativa, and will grow quite high - depending on how long vegged. therefore best to only veg for about 3-4 weeks before putting in to flower.

tend to have alot of lateral growth - so best to give them 1.25'-1.5' each in SCROG.

if you are new to the hobby - then i would recommend that you go with soil to start with, until you find your feet.

a 600w light will be more than adequate, try and get a coolshade light if poss and link it to an inline fan for perfect growing conditions with no temp hassle.

make sure your wiring is safe and away from electrics.

make sure you invest in a relay unit for the light to prevent overload and timer freeze.

yeah, this one is being a little lazy - other 3 JF more advanced, think it must have more haze in it than the others; is certainly taller.

is only start of week 5 though, so might catch up.

have had one take 12 weeks to finish - but worth waiting for.

Yo dave dude. That looks so tasty.

I am a bit surprised that Jack herer is mainly sativa. Especially knowing that it is specifically for ptsd. Interesting.

I am getting more specific with the strains I want to grow now and find all this fascinating.

Its nice to see grows other than white widow or norhtern lights etc.

I am going to be growing Jack Flash feminized very soon and wish to grow it with a shorter plant (Blue Moonshine - about 2 foot tall). Would it work out well to use a SCROG over the JF to keep the height down closer to the BM?

It says on Sensi's website that the sativa pheno of JF should be allowed to grow pretty tall. How would you deal with this dilemma? Would you grow both at the same time? If so, how? Thanks a ton in advance.:joint:

PS. Your picks look great (esp. Buzzberry mmmm).

Good to find more peeps growing the same strain. My grow space is only 22X22 and I vegged the jack for 66 days (from seed).

10 plants regular is a tight fit for a 600w. thats without doing scrog. scrog is a way to grow fewer plants in the same amount of space. if you want to grow all ten at the same time using scrog i dont think one 600w will work. maybe if u dont veg them very long

Jack Herer doesn't come feminized from Seeds if they are the originals from Sensi Seeds. Must be some knock off or a different strain like Jock Horror or Jack Flash.

hi first time grow ,im limited with hight in my grow room , can i flower early to keep her under 3ft????????????????any 1:weed:

will what still be the same ur plant? ppl run 12/12 from seed and have great grows it might even work out for the better..saving energy and letting the plant get a rest. shud b the same but dont quote me on tht every1 has a different opion..i personally LST my plant to control the height therefore i can veg for 4 weeks and not force anything. if u have limited space nothing is better than LST..i wud use it even if i had a grow room with 8ft ceilings..it will only increase the yield.
