questions with hps lights

ok... more newbie questions...at the moment im running cfl's on two plants. 3 daylight 60w equiv 6500k and 3 softlight 100w equiv 2700k. the wife likes to save power, hinting all the cfl's. now i dont plan on growing more than 4 plants at any given time. would the 150w hps setup work for a small number of plants? also i know with the cfl's i should flower with 2700k's. with the mentioned hps setup, does it work with both veg and flower?

You can grow from Seedling to Harvest using a HPS as i have done so using a 600w.
I used a 6400K t5 for propagation and a little veg time.
I then used my 600w hps for the rest.

But i will be buying an MH bulb for my next grow.

the trouble is that the 150w hps may only be good enough to grow up to 4 plants if you LST them to keep them small so that you have a wider canopy.
