Can you use fresh bud (i.e straight off the plant) for Butane honey oil?

Yes, but with very low yields. Best done with dried/cured buds, for maximum flavor and potency.

Absolutely not. I tried this once a long time ago. The moisture in the fresh bud instantly froze when the butane hit it. My tube got clogged up and I had a blowout. The can shot up almost over the fence into the neighbors yard and I was shot in the face with bud and butane. (could have gone blind)
