Last grows was with t5 for veg 600watt cfl for flower looking into 1000watt 2 chip l.e.d to grow 2 maybe 3 plants at a time...will I be happy with the results?
Funny you say viparspector that's what I'm looking into....ive moved down south need something that produces less heat that cfl mh hps budget for lights is going to be around 250 300 pushing it I know 600 watts cfl is not the best but I know 3 plants 12 week turnaround I was happy with quality and quantitysorry forgot to mention I'm using viparspecta 600's ... some will sheet on them... so far they have been wonderful. GL
dude go with cobs,, those blurple lights from china just dont cut it,,Funny you say viparspector that's what I'm looking into....ive moved down south need something that produces less heat that cfl mh hps budget for lights is going to be around 250 300 pushing it I know 600 watts cfl is not the best but I know 3 plants 12 week turnaround I was happy with quality and quantity
Is that a strain that naturally fox tails? Or is your room simply too hot. Also to the op LEDs work well some better than others I run more than 6000 watts of led some burple lights some I've built. The cob lights are going to better than anything an building them will result in something nice for you. @srichard722View attachment 3965828 View attachment 3965832 View attachment 3965834
These are day 53 under 2 "600"w viparspectra. They do, in fact, grow cannabis!
This ww x bb pheno is prone to foxtailing. Add that with me running out of vertical space ( buds ~7-8" from lights) and i get that. LolIs that a strain that naturally fox tails? 3x3 grow tent for 2 maybe 3 plants I was using 2 300watt cfl lights now would i be better off using my t5 fixure for veg or just use cob 3500k for full cycle? I'm on a budget need new lights new exhaust pots soil nutes Fan...basicly starting over only thing I got is 3x3 tent t5 cfls and hoods but I now live in the South and need to watch my heat better my t5 is just a 2bulb 2foot fixtureThe timber fixtures won't vary much from other cob builds of similar design. Search up some grow journals of 200 watt cob builds.
There are several ways to get to a 200 watt light as well. What is the size of your grow area? And when you refer to "600 watts of cfl", is that true watts or six 100 watt equivalent? 200 watts of modern cob technology will absolutely crush a handful of standard cfl bulbs.
Have about 5hundred to invest3x3 grow tent for 2 maybe 3 plants I was using 2 300watt cfl lights now would i be better off using my t5 fixure for veg or just use cob 3500k for full cycle? veg with your t5's,, and get the Timber Cobs,,, you will be so very happy,,,Looks like ill be going with 200watt timber....can any one share their experience with timber lights? Maybe pics of a full cycle with them? Compared to 600 watt cfl what can I expect will a set of t5 veg lights be better or will I be better off using cob 3500k?
I have 5 to spend but need pots soil nutes and exhaust fan and filter could hold off on exhaust fan and filter till flowering but still....@Tim Fox do you think that the timber kits are a better value than say the vero 29 kit from rapid?
Having built a few lights, I feel like the frame is the most time consuming part. The vero 29 kit from rapid is $220 with options to run at 1400ma or 2100ma, and upgrading to se would make it solderless. After the upgrade, adding fan, and power supply for fan, op could grab 2 of these for about the $500 he has to spend. Personally, I'd like to see the cobs spread out a bit more. But putting 500 watts in a 3x3 for $1/watt is a damn good deal.
