Quick lighting question....

Hi all,

quick question... I'm moving into a new apartment and there is a great closet I can use to grow. I've done one grow before under a 250w cfl for the entire grow ..... My question is .... Can I veg using that cfl for say 5 weeks and then use an hps ?? What are the pros and cons of this? I'm Trying to save a little money by using cfl for veg but will I lose tons on yield apposed to using a 400w cfl for both stages of the grow??

Think of it this way; The way we grow cannabis indoors entails tricking the plant into thinking the season is changing from Spring to Summer, via the change of hours. Now, the change from a CFL to a 400w ballast may be a bit tricky, but chances are you won't have many problems, just watch your plant closely, make sure nothing bad happens. These plants are made to handle that kind of lighting, but either way, you'll want to exercise caution. When your grow's done, either post or shoot me a few pictures, it may give a better yield, who knows?

Give the plant a bit to get used to the brighter light by having it far away to start. And move it closer every couple days.
