quick question about seed depth? plz help!

Hey i planted my seed about 2 days ago. its about 1 millimeter from breaking the soil now (today) its so close to the top because i removed some of the soil that was covering it. not much, but im just curious, will this make my stem weaker than if i let it break the full 1 inch of soil?

its kinda hard to explain lol. sorry if it doesnt make sense

No it won't. We always plant our germinated seeds with the seed on top of the soil and the root sticking down in a hole made by a toothpick.

i know haha. i chose it when i was super stonsied bonesied haha

did u get them things in the soil yet? I liked to plant a 1/4-3/8 inch under soil with root up
studies show seed favors this method

yeah! i did. its on 20/4 im germinating my pipi pyramid seed and the Roadrunner auto flower is in the soil. its barely poking out of the soil. still has some of the seed attached. its having it 4 hours of no light right now. for about another hour. when lights turn back on ill check it again. it should poking out a little more. i keep putting little bits of soil back ontop of it. barely anything though. just because i was afraid that i put the seed in too shallow. but now im just letting it run its course.

may i ask where you found the information showing that you should plant your seed root up. i myself germinate the seed right where it is going to grow. i dont like to soak them paper towel tissue anything i just place them right in the growing media i am going to use and let it go. i just feel the less i have to mess with it the less chance i have of ruining the grow. if you know what i mean

An easy rule of thumb is 1 finger joint , as in The top of your index finger to the first joint/knuckle in your finger. Unless you got really long fingers that is an ol outdoor growers trick when u doing lots. 1st finger joint length. Thats for soil mediums.

If your using rockwool propagation grow cubes u use less space. Pen tip bout half way deep into the cube .... place in hole.

Those are the only 2 i will mention coz thats the only 2 mediums i would propagate in

Yeah i finished soaking my Pipi fem. seed this morning. i woke up and it was at the bottom of my shot glass. so i just put it in paper towels. maybee 10 hours ago. i havent even looked at it since then. im going to open the box where i have it in about an hour for an extra spray of water. just for some more moisture,
