Quick question about using CFL lights. Help Please.

This is my first indoor grow and I have a small question regarding the lighting. I plan on using a couple 150 watt CFL bulbs but I don't know what type of lighting fixture to use. All of the lamps that I have got this warning label saying use only 100 watt maximum. Do I need to buy some industrial lamps or something to safely use my 150 watt bulbs, and by safely I mean no exploding lights or starting any fires and such. And if i stick to lower watt lights such as 40watts i can just use normal lamp fixtures like a desk lamp??? Thanks for the help.

it depends .. is the cfl's are 150 true watts or use way less and put the equilivant of 150 watts of . look at them to see what they acually take to run .. 150 w equilivant only runs on about 40 watts ....

yea ... your probally gonna have to upgrade your light fixture to keep it safe then . they usually sell the housing units at the same places you get the bulbs from .... The bulb itself will fit standard fixtures usually but standard fixtures are not rated for that high of wattage ... as tempting as it is ... I dont reccomend using the standard fixtures for lights of that wattage ... Its nice to grow your own buds , but not worth burning the house down for ... safety first is always best ... hope you get some nice dank
